Not Quite a Year...

Yuppers! looks like we almost went a year without a post. Not that there wasn't anything to write or upload - just that not enough time for the uber scaled back operations staff here at Ollie Pop. We could blame twitter :) - but shame on us. We do tweet on @Grindsome if you are out there. Anyways, we'll try to catch you all up on Ollie Pop but in an effort to keep things on the uptick - will feature this blast on the Clash at Clairemont that PACSUN hosted at the Mission Valley YMCA. The annual event drew over 70 top pros, dozens of brands and probably close to a thousand folks to raise awareness and some major money to support Grind For Life in its support to skate and destroy cancer.
The event was split up across the Vert Ramp, Street and Bowl with contests across each and emceed by Daggerman Dave Duncan. The day started with a New Era best trick contest on the street for the AMs (congrats to our friend Austin Zito) before a highest 540 on the vert ramp. Lincoln Ueda pulled in the 5 benjis but Tony Hawk and Andy Macdonald got their doubles on for the crowd. Then a best trick with some other side junkets for Pros took center stage on the street section with folks like Ollie Pop Bublbe Gum chomper Torey Pudwill and Jordan Hoffart.

The crowd migrated to what must have been the biggest autograph line ever!!! Bucky Lasek, Lyn-Z Hawkins, PLG, Chris Gentry, Andy Mac, among the other pros all took a break from the skate to appease the fans with their John Hancock. The day wound down with a longest hand stand in the bowl saw another $250. As usuasl though the real trickery came in the winding hours as the trio of Lester Kasai, Andy Macdonald, and Steve Cabellero hooking it up for some triples.

A big thanks to Mike Rogers and Chris Conway for asking us to participate and also to GFL and Ollie Pop team rider Alx Sorgente and his family for making the trip out to Cali from Fla. Check him out shredding the bowl:

Thanks for sticking with us and from this time til next time - so long. Shred or die and remember to always GRIND SOME Ollie Pop!
