Pop, Pop, and more POP!

What up world,
Well, it's good to be back here for another week of Ollie Pop's "Grind Some" news!
First off, we have some sweet team updates for you guys.
In the silver state, it was Ollie Poppers DM/AM skating 1-2 at the Retaks Expressions latest tour stop. David Mackay took top-spot on the mini-ramp with Antonio Moya as the 1st runner-up. So give it up for the mega-vegas shredderz! Speaking of desert rides.. Spencer Lau took the course at the PHX AM with some new choppers - "new" because well you can see here... look for S-Lau at the 4:40 mark in his striped top and well you can see that Spring Fling in Kona kind of flopped :( And um speaking of "oops", he did it again - Ryan Conners took 1st place, making it his third consecutive 1st place win in a row! If you ask me, homie's on fire! This time, it was at the Monster series in Grover Beach. Make sure you give these guys a shout out for all their hard work. Ryan isn't only doing work at all the comps he's in, he is also making it happen cause to save the ocean. To learn more about what Ryan is doing check out the latest issue of Novus Swell. There is a whole article about Ryan's cause and what you can do to help. Speaking of causes we'll be front some Ollie Pop to the FMX world in support of our lost friend, Jeremy Lusk, RIP with the Lusk Legacy Charity Poker Tournament next Wednesday April 15 at Pechanga Resort in Temecula. And what up with the POP and Poker --- crazy in that our friends at Full Tilt are bootlegging OP to their events and 2 time WSOP bracelet winner Jennifer Harman is all about the Watermelon. No worries JH - we gots some fresh POP coming out to you for your Charity Poker Tournament that benefits the Nevada SPCA.
For all of you rippers that want a chance to show what you got and get some sponsorship chances, Central Valley AM JAM has just posted up the dates for their upcoming comps. Check it out and if you are there don't be square - get out and skate!
So that’s about it. if you’re dying for some Ollie Pop and the homies at your shop say "no way".. you know the drill – dial 1-800-446-1787 and tell us where you be so we can rally the pop-ulation to get that shop some pop! Thanks guys, now GO GRIND SOME!!!

Poppin' On Down The Road.

Welcome back to what we know as the only blog in the world wide web that talks about rippers, riders, shredders and ships with POP! So things have been pretty hectic out on the event front… local shop comps, urban sessions and stateside activities…

Leading off with the shopside events, things went pretty well over at Underwood Skatepark in the PA this weekend.
Matt Ruane was the lucky winner of the Ollie Pop High Ollie Contest, so he took home 50 big ones
for that! Nice Pop Matt.
We also want to thank Underwood for including us in that event – they move
more than their fair share of Ollie Pop and we are happy to give their event something to get up for… Also on the sponsor side of things Ollie Pop fronted some product out to Jennifer Harmon’s Charity Poker event in Lake Tahoe – the 2 time WSOP champ powered through her allocation of Watermelon and started raiding the other player’s gift bags! Now we’ve created a monster as Full Tilt Poker TM Rich Bitar is bootlegging the good stuff to tournament all over the world.

With respect to some state oriented comps – Chase Barney was kickin' it old school style in Venice Beach, CA this weekend and got some sweet shots with him and his homies. Chase also took 2nd place in the street course at CASL at the Skatelab this weekend. He was also in the top five for the Mini Ramp. Good job Chase, keep poppin'! Bouncing east coast Jacksonville based Spencer Lau was busy. We say “based” not because he is grounded but cuz this kid has more miles logged than our own sales guys! well until this little kiss of pavement at the 4:40 mark on this youtube. The slendeezy 13 year-old did snag 11th at Florida Bowlriders OPEN AM division earlier in march. Anyhoots, he’ll be rockin a new grill when he jets to AZ for the Phx AM where you’ll see the BROTHERS SHORT. Good luck guys and thanks for all your support! wish we good be there… Speaking of being there, OP made a little trek across the Mojave desert to check out the AM/DM action – that’s for Antonio Moya and David Mackay - at the 107.5 Extreme Thing. Despite the nation’s automaker challenges and are DOA alternator – the POP-mania machine got er done as did Vegas AM JAM 1st placer Antonio Moya. AM took 1st in the skate intermediate 13 and unders, and podiumed with DM who took the top spot in the Mini Ramp 15 and unders. DM kept it rolling into the open comp with the big boys and placed 4th. So be sure you stop by their myspace pages and show them some love. You can also see an overload of photos from Vegas and AM/DM on Flickr. Bookmark it with Digg or Delicious or whatever so you can get direct access to Ollie Pop photos.

So that’s about it. if you’re dying for some Ollie Pop and the homies at your shop say no mas.. you know the drill – dial 1-800-446-1787 and tell us where u b so we can rally the pop-ulation to get that shop some pop! Thanks guys, now GO GRIND SOME!!!

As you all should know if you really skate, the Tampa Pro was this past weekend and boy oh boy was it off the hook! If you were geographically restrained (like us) to some anti-SPoTampa location without access to FUEL.tv and missed out on this event, then don't cry just yet, because you can see the whole thing at FUEL.TV online. Some killer skating going on there and thanks out to Jungle Jim who made the trip and dropped some Ollie Pop to the lucky ones in the crowd. Surely they will splice a made for tv version on cable as well. Consider that our little tidbit of gift to you for this week. See... we here at Ollie Pop like to share the sites and take care of our peops.
While we are on the subject of comps. our young riders rip! Ryan Connors is rolling like the proverbial king of the heap eh #1 This time it was at CC Monster Series. So make sure you stop by his Myspace page and leave him some love. Additionally, we'll be rolling the Ollie Pop Van out to meet our groms AM/DM (Antonio Moya and David Mackay) at the Extreme Thing happening at Desert Breeze park in Vegas for the VegasAMJAM. Oh and a finally - did we tell you about our little SoFLA ripper - Alx Sorgente? - well shame on us cause a couple weeks back the super steazy italion stallion won the overall GROM division at the Florida Bowlriders Cup with a second in Kona and top spots in New Smyrna and Cocoa Beach. Be sure to holla out their name and a basic location - we in turn shall hit their phone, inbox and quite possibly their shop. And if they choose to be too cool or "hard core". We will peer pressure then and if knumber skulls prevail, just tell us where you live and we will call the nearest 7-11 and try to get it in there for you. It may cost a tab bit more, because we try to support YOUR local skate shops and give you some financial incentive to get Ollie Pop from a skate/surf/snow shop. Speaking of snow - props out to our Grenade friends and Danny Kass on his however manyeth World Cup crown! so like i was gonna say - we will do our very best to make sure that you have complete access to buy your Ollie Pop. Keep On Poppin'

Hey guys,

Hope you all had a great weekend filled with plenty of skating! I know we did! But now it's back to the grinder and Ollie Pop is making moves!

We had a great time out at the Clash at Clairemont this weekend and if you didn't get a chance to make it out, let me be the first to tell you, you definitely missed out. But don't be sad, because lucky for you our good ol' pals over at Transworld were there to cover the whole thing. That way you don't have to miss a beat! Go check out the video at Transworld.com to catch up on what you missed. Plus, you can see some of the photos on our Myspace and Facebook.
We also want to take this time to send out a huge apology to
Mt. Baldy on account that we were M.I.A. on sat. Johnny injured his back trying to tre-flip Hollywood high over the rail, so he couldn't make it. We apologize and hope we can do something together again in the future. Seriously, we had a back give out and could access the contact numbers - our bad.

Little Ryan Connors had a pretty good weekend. He is only 9, but get this... he dropped in and jumped over the groms in the 12 and under sponsored division at the CASL competition this weekend and took home 1st place, way to go RY!!! Be sure to give him some props for that!

Check out our friends at SPoTLIGHT throwing on the Tampa Pro, and look out for Jungle Jim if you are at the park because he's got a secret stash of Ollie Pop for his discretionary use.

As for upcoming events, Sarge and his peops up at Underwood Skatepark in PA, are hosting a contest on March 28th. It is called the Paddy Skate Jam and they’ll put on an Ollie Pop Sponsored High Ollie contest with 50 bucks getting shelled out to whoever wins!!! So start practicing your pop! We have a couple more shops that have just ordered some Ollie Pop, so now it's our job to let you know who they are. The first is Pulse Boardshop in Tyler, TX. So if you live in Tyler, or anywhere around Tyler, now you know where you can get your pop! Also, our friends over at P.B. Boys Club in Palm Beach, FL bought a couple cases. Check out their website, they have some sweet T-shirts on there that you can buy. But make sure if you live in the area you stop by the store and say hi and buy some Ollie Pop while you are there. Speaking of websites, you should go check out the new Ollie Pop website when you get a chance. It's fully loaded with all the Ollie Pop info that you need!

So, listen up,

Ollie Pop is giving back to the industry. What we mean by that, is that starting March 1st we will be having a special discounted pricing on our advertising rates. We all know that Ollie Pop is the best tasting bubble gum that the action sports industry has ever seen, but more than just providing a great tasting product, we also like to help companies get their name out there. So, if you have a clothing company, or maybe a skateboard company and you would like to get your hands on some extremely affordable advertising, then Ollie Pop is the way to go. We will have the specs about the discounted pricing info next week. So, make sure you read next week's blog and be the first to take advantage of this great offer.

Yeah, this is how we do.

Hey guys,
Well, once again we have some more sweet Ollie Pop news!
First things first, last week after all the trade show madness, we had a nice little trip to some of the skateparks in Vegas. Antonio Moya and David Mackay were out there rippin' it up and reppin' it for the pop. Those guys are true pop masters. If you guys didn't happen to know, there are a lot of great skateparks in Vegas. So, if you live in the area check out www.skateboardpark.com to find one near you.
There are a few more shops that just placed orders for some Ollie Pop.
Our homies over at 2 Felons Skateshop just made a re-order of pop. So now they are freshly stocked. You can add Two Felons on myspace, just follow this link to their page, www.myspace.com/twofelons. Get over there and show them some love and buy a pack of Ollie Pop while you're at it. Also, Skatelab in Simi Valley, CA just placed their first order, so we are stoked to see them supporting the pop.
And if you just so happen to live in Lihue Hawaii, our good buddy Donovan just made an order for Meyvn Skateshop. You can check out their shop at www.myspace.com/meyvnskate.
Underwood Skatepark in PA is going to be hosting a contest later this month and Ollie Pop is happy to be supporting the cause. We will have more info on that next week, so make sure you check back then for more of your vital Grind Some news.
That's about it for now. Be sure to let us know if you local skate shop doesn't carry Ollie Pop. Just give us their name and a basic location and we will give them a call. Thanks guys, we hope you guys all have a great week. Now... GO SKATE!!!

Check, Check, Check It Out!

What's up guys!
Well, we are all back from vegas and do we have some news for you.
As you all know, Ollie Pop was a proud sponser of the POW charity poker tounament that took place at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, NV this past Tuesday night. You will all be happy to know that it went really well and everyone had a great time. To give you some more accurate info on what was the exact outcome, here is an excerpt from the press release:
Las Vegas, NV - January 29, 2009 – Never Summer Industries VP of Sales, Sean MacAllister cleared out the final table to take home the grand prize in winning the Ollie Pop POW Charity Poker tournament sponsored by Full Tilt Poker and held on Tuesday night at the Vegas Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. POW founder Jeremy Jones accepted the check for $10,000 from Full Tilt Poker, Ollie Pop, Vegas Transworld Snowboarding and the Vegas Hard Rock Hotel and Casino at Transworld Snowboarding’s 10th Annual Rider Poll Awards.
At the event MacAllister bested a final table that included Protect Our Winters founder Jeremy Jones, Benji Ritchie, Dave Duncan, Summer Zemel, and the “Impossible Read” Marius Otterstad. MacAllister overpowered second place finisher Shana Price on the final hand with Kings up over Fours to win over $3000 in cash and prizes, including an option to play in a 2009 World Series of Poker event.
So there you have it, give it up to the man Sean MacAllister for taking the cake all in the good name of protecting our winters!
We also have some new shops with POP! Envy skateshop in Atwater, CA just bought a case. So if you are in the area, stop by and get some pop and tell Darlene that we sent you.
Also, Erik at Pulse skateshop in Goodyear, AZ just made an order as well. So if you live in the area, now you can get your fresh supply of pop every day! And last but definitely not least is our good friend Joann at Rascals skate, surf and snow shop. She just restocked her supply of Ollie Pop, so if you live in Ellicot City, MD make sure you get over there and check out her shop, and while your at it, get some pop! (that was a pretty weak rhyme)
This week we have a new spot that you have to check out. In Oceanside, CA they have recently built a new skatepark off Mesa over by Martin Luther King Jr. middle school. It's a really fun, all concrete park, so if you haven't skated it yet, get over there and change that!
And remember to let us know if your local skateshop doesn't carry Ollie Pop. Just give us their name and a basic location and we will give them a call. Because no shop should be caught without their pop. Thanks guys!
Alright, now that you have all of your vital Ollie Pop news, be sure to check back next week for some more Grind Some. Now, get off of your computer and GO SKATE!

It's Good To Be Back!

Hey everyone!
Well, it's great to be back in the office and back to the normal routine of life. We had a great time out at ASR this past week and if you were there, then you understand why. Volcom decided to have a regular hoe-down! They went all out, fully equipped with a four piece band including banjo's, stand up bass, guitars and even a few pots and pans just to add that final touch. We were lucky enough to be right next to the "Photon Boards" booth and it was definitely a good time hanging out with those guys. We had plenty of winners at the gumball machine, we gave away shirts, bandannas, gum and even our own custom Ollie Pop skateboard decks! I gotta say, some of those kids would not give up. They were pumping quarters into that thing like there was no tomorrow! And that's what we like to see, that's the Ollie Pop spirit!
Anyways, we got a lot of people that want to carry some Pop in their stores so make sure you check back in for next week's blog to find out which one's will have it. Grind For Life had a High Ollie contest upstairs in the chill zone. This time, Luis Tolentino took the win with a whopping 42 inch high ollie. Now that's some pop! He had a little help from our good ol' pal Kareem Cambell who was on the stage cheering him on. Our good friends Paige and Rachel came out to support the cause and rep the pop for a couple days, so we want to say thank you to them. Other than that, we talked a lot of business, had a lot of fun and are looking forward to the next show and hope to see you there too!
As you are reading this, Ollie Pop is out in Vegas for the Charity poker tournament. The tournament is being held tonight at 6:00 pm. It is at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and everyone is welcome to come watch and show your support. All the proceeds from the tournament will be going to benefit the Protect Our Winters orginization. So, if you just happen to be in Vegas tonight, make sure you go check it out and you are promised to have a great time.
To find out more about Protect Our Winters, visit their website at http://protectourwinters.org/.
Well, that's about it for now. Make sure you let us know if your local skate shop doesn't have Ollie Pop. Just give us the name of the shop and a basic location and we will give them a call.
And don't forget to stop by next week for more of your vital Grind Some news!
Now, GO SKATE!!!
